ok this is where i defend crazy-ass louboutin... because you're wrong.

if you take pretty much any pair of high heels you own and stand them up, they'll most likely teeter. Louboutins are perfectly balanced, no teetering, which is the mark of a true craftsman. They're expertly made.

night? Also the other question is what is women's 9.5 equal to in men's sizes? And
my last question is what do they smell like.

  • Eeep! That's some good shit.
  •  » quote
  • okay i'm really hoping someone can shed some light here.

i just bought a pair of pumps and the soles on them are leather. like, shiny leather. when i walked with them in the store, i couldn't even stand on the carpet because the soles were so slippery. i thought that in the past i had heard of people just getting soles put onto leather-bottom shoes so i bought them figuring i'd google it when i got home. well, now i googled it and i'm getting a lot of different responses, many of which are saying that i shouldn't add any rubber sole to them at all because then the leather will....rot? but then i can't walk in them! does anyone have experience with this? will crosspost on bco, too.
  •  » quote
  • I totally prefer leather soles to rubber ones. After they get a little scuffed I find them to have more grip than thin rubber which stiffens in the cold. You can do a couple things--Scuff them with some sandpaper, or take a slow walk around your neighborhood. It only takes one long walk to get the slippery coating off.
  •  » quote
  • really? so i can wear them in the rain and stuff?
  •  » quote
  • these aren't them, but they're by the same company and have the same sole (check the bottom view). they're like, REALLY slippery.

  •  » quote
  • Oh I love that brand. Yeah, I wear mine in the rain. I think most of my shoes have leather soles now that I think about it. If you're really worried, after you scuff them up, you can apply a little mink oil to help the leather shed water faster.

i can't believe i'm explaining this to you, but the simple, literal interpretation (that the wearer is asking to be thought of as a piece of meat) is the least likely, in this case. do you honestly think a man would see a woman in those tights and think, "hmm, what a useful aid in degrading her!" no woman who wears those does so hoping to be regarded as a sexual object. they have the opposite effect! it's cool. like a green stop sign or something. fuxnig wtih yuor preceptoins.

I think the literal interpretation is exactly that: a giant slab of meat, awaiting butchering, not sexual contact. Therefore, a woman wearing them has no problem with that, which was my initial problem with it.
But now that I see it's funny, meat away, girls. Meat away.

the leggings or the boots? i mean, full disclosure: the problem with the leggings is that regular yoga makes my thighs a little bit larger, which is totally fine with me except that when i bought them i hadn't been to yoga in months and now that i'm going more frequently they're just sort of unflattering on me.

the boots i bought hoping and praying that they'd fit and they were a half size too large. i put an insole in them and it makes them fit lengthwise but it makes them cut into the top of my foot. i tried to wear them on NYE and had to turn around after a block because they were digging into me so hard (plus the insole was totally visible because of the cut-out part).

I used to settle for a size off if I really liked something and then I would never wear it. Now I just force myself to walk away if they don't have my size. I may talk to myself when I do it.

! your inner-womyn is killing me

yea i'm kinda gay i guess.

  •  » quote
  • i think you could probably wear them with navy or grey, too. i think i would.
  •  » quote
  • depends on the grey... i probably wouldn't wear a light shade with them.

  • no no, a grey darker than the leggings, for sure.

If you like the boots, that's what matters.

no lie, I heard you scoffing in my head as I tried them on. you would HATE them

But I'm a firm believer in not NOT doing something because your boyfriend doesn't like it.
    Antagonistic as always!

  • Cat I was thinking about those boots--do you have any white or grey pants or leggings? I think they would look good with some.

  • i'll measure when i get home! i will say though i have really narrow hips and a uhh... medium sized butt and they're pretty snug on me.

The thing about them is they aren't tight around my calf and all the cutout boots I'm googling are tight around the calf. It might be fine, I'm just trying to predict...

  • they would be better if they weren't so loose in the ankle/calf. i'm not at all opposed to open-toed boots but i sent mine back (they were really similar except grey) because they were too loose.
  •  » quote
  • Oh no.
My two biggest problems are of course the open toe which is pretty much a crime and the heel looks like it was
put on the wrong boot. These wouldve been better as just plain engineer boots but someone went all
    ~*fashion*~ on them.

    And yeah they're kinda loose.

Man that open toe thing really bothers me on a boot. Worst possible design flaw.
